Your favorite colleague is late for his rodizio invitation, but patiently briefs you through some issues to remember before your first trip to South America begins. After your chat, you are well familiarization with the South Atlantic airspace: Besides general information, a special emphasis is put on the geography and weather to expect in this area. In addition to that, the different air traffic control sectors and air routes with associated communication regulations as well as separation and contingency procedures are discussed. It serves as initial and refresher training.
